George Washington bade farewell to his troops here more than two centuries ago. Now, the Sons of the Revolution are finding new inspiration from another source - The Porterhouse. After all, you can't fight a revolution on an empty stomach. So, the oldest surviving structure in Manhattan is now home to Ireland's largest genuine Irish brewer. Where else can you share a brew in the same spot made famous by a tavern owner who once passed military secrets to General Washington. While it's doubtful you'll find any British secrets here (or at least none that we know of), what you will find are three stouts, three ales and three lagers, as well as a Celebration Stout in honor of old George. You'll also find a menu featuring hearty pub fare; including a 16-ounce ribeye, a 28-ounce T-Bone, shepherd's pie, fish and chips, and bangers with mash. Washington called Fraunces Tavern his home. Maybe it's time you did too. - Thomas Rafael
