Details: For fans of Chinese-style roast duck, The Roast in Sunset Park needs to be high on your list. You will be able to spot the restaurant, on 51 St and 8th Avenue, by the sheer volume of meats hanging in the window. Roast pig, suckling pig, roast pork, duck, scallion and soy chicken, ribs and glazed chicken wings are among the many offering. We sampled the pig with crispy crackling, and the roast duck served on rice with Chinese vegetables. Both were excellent and the cost for two was just eleven dollars. A whole roast duck cost under $20, which is a steal. Other meats, including pig's ear and tongue are also available. The Roast also sells noodle soups, casserole dishes and congee made with things like spare ribs, frog and salted egg. Service is a bit hectic and there are only a few small tables for seating. Take out is your best option. The restaurant has a second location in Flushing, Queens. Neighborhood: Sunset Park Hours: 7am-10pm daily Entree Price: $5-$10 Takeout:Yes Delivery: Yes |
