Cititour Review:

From the moment you walk in, it's clear that The Strip House is no run-of-the-mill steakhouse. Designed in lush shades of red by architect-to-the-stars David Rockwell, the room has an almost romantic feel; moreover, the menu includes such lighter-than-usual fare as a salad of tomatoes, onion and cucumber or sesame-crusted yellowfin tuna. But as long as you're here – and willing to spend the $100 per person tab (that covers three courses and an average bottle of wine) – go for the gusto. Ultracreamy lobster bisque practically screams of the sea. A hefty rack of lamb crusted with Dijon-flavored breadcrumbs set atop a stew of white beans practically redefines comfort food. And the house's strip steak is as flavorful a cut of meat as you will find anywhere. When it comes to sides (which must be ordered a la carte), damn the calories and indulge in a mound of potatoes fried in goose fat or the delicious creamed spinach. Leaving room for dessert is an almost insurmountable challenge; fortunately, a party of four can easily split one slice of chocolate cake.
