Details: The legendary Turk’s Inn is back. The restaurant is inspired by the original family-owned Wisconsin Supper Club that had a strong following for 80 years before closing in 2014 when the last family member died. Now, it has been lovingly restored in Bushwick with the same kitschy decor as the original. Owners Varun Kataria and Tyler Erickson, longtime fans and family firends, bought the items at auction vowing to keep the magic of The Turk’s Inn alive. The restaurant, which seats 68, includes a rooftop and takeaway counter. Executive chef Alberto Carballo (of Claudette and Boqueria) is offering dishes like Lamb Meatballs with Spicy Yogurt, Cucumber and Mint; Lamb Rib Kebabs with Green Tomato Chutney and Adjika; Grilled Whole Porgy with Lemon Sauce; and Pork Chops with a Coffee Rub. For dessert, there is Turkish Baked Alaska. Visitors will also get to see the original 1940’s bar, designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, and the original Turk’s neon sign on the rooftop, along with belly dancers and ornate tchotchkes. The Turk's Inn also operates The Sultan Room, a music venue next door, and Döner Kebab. Neighborhood: Bushwick Reservations: Click for reservations Hours: 5:30pm - 11:00pm Daily Leave a Comment |
