The Usual is now open at The Nolitan Hotel kicking things off with a fried chicken feast. Chef Alvin Cailin, of Eggslut in Los Angeles, is manning the kitchen, while his brother is serving as the sommelier. We stopped in for the chicken dinner for $30, which included a $10 bottle of wine, and were very impressed. The fried chicken has a super crunchy crust with moist meat in the center. Sides include grilled corn-on-the-cob dusted with cayenne pepper and cotija cheese, collard greens with chunks of pork, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The restaurant is open from 5-10pm.
