Tiki Chick, from the folks behind Jacob’s Pickles, is serving up tiki drinks from a corner spot on Amsterdam Avenue at 85th Street. Classics tiki drinks like Mai Tais (made with three types of rum), and Singapore Slings are available along with other concoctions like Chicks on a Holiday made with Svol Swedish Aquavit, Neversink Apple Gin, Tangerine and Mandarin purée, Orgeat and ginger; and the Blue Hawaiian with Skyy Vodka, El Dorado 3yr rum, Blue Curaçao, honey and lemon. And then there is Mount Tambora’s Smoke. At $22, it is said to be “strong enough to toast those who were able to survive and step forward from the largest volcanic eruption ever recorded.” Bar bites are also available. The decor is cheeky tiki chic with lots of bamboo. Just look for the lady with the hula skirt and Hawaiian lei above the door.
