When you walk into Tiny Empire you are greeted by friendly staff offering samples of the juices of the day. A combination of cucumber celery and kale tasted quite refreshing, while smoothies offer fruity concoctions, some made with coconut water, others with hemp milk. I purchased one of the shots. The peppery mix of pomegranate, ginger and cayenne arrived packed in a tiny vial. I was told it could help ward off an oncoming cold. This is the world of fresh-pressed juices where juice drinks go well beyond carrots and beets, although they have that too. Here you will find ingredients like tumeric, maca described as a Peruvian super food, Himalayan salt and something called colloidal silver. Juices at Tiny Empire are not made fresh on the spot. Instead, they are shipped in daily from the company's main outpost in Williamsburg. And while some of the portions could be considered tiny, prices are not. They range from six dollars for a juice shot to $11 For a 17-ounce bottle. Cleanses, which include a shot and several juices, start at just over fifty bucks.
