The flavors of the Amalfi coast can be found at Tramonti. It's the town where Chef Giovani Vittorio Tagliafierro was born and where pizza making has been a serious business for more than a century. The pizzas at Tramonti Fifth Avenue, in Nomad, are truly outstanding. We tried the Zio Vittorio topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, Fior di latte, cherry tomatoes, arugula, prisciutto crudo di Parma, thick shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano and EVOO. It had a wonderful soft, yet crispy crust delivered straight from the wood-fired oven. More than a dozen different pies are offered, all made with care. People eating here will also find a nice selection of oysters, baked clams, grilled octopus and pasta dishes. Larger plates include braised lamb shank, grilled prawns and veal milanese. Wine is the drink of choice.
