Wakuwaku is an expansive restaurant at Industry City attached to Oldie's, Japanese-inspired bar. Both spots are providing true to form Asian bites. The space at Wakuwaku is very zen-like. As you enter there is a long wooden communal counter with paper lanterns dangling above and large bottles of sake lining the walls. The are also individual booths with traditional horigotatsu, a Japanse table that sits low to the ground. The menu intinially features lunch sets with plans to expand down the road. Think mixed tempura, pork katsu, salmon teriyaki, and broiled eel served with rice, miso soup and choice of sides. In the tempura set, aside from perfectly prepared shrimp and veggies, diners will also find anji, a small whitefish from Japan that crisps up nicely. You will find it as part of Japan Village.
