French-Indonesian is what you will find at Wayan by Cedric Vongerichten in NoLita. The restaurant, on Spring Street, is bringing the culture and flavors of Indonesia to New York with dishes like Lemongrass Coconut Chicken Curry, and Nasi Goreng, a fragrant rice dish served family style. Other specialties include Balinese Suckling Pig and Wagyu Strip Loin. Vongerichten is the son of chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. This is his first solo venture in New York City with his wife, Ochi, and friend and partner, Ezra Williams. The space, designed by Shawn Sullivan and his team at the Rockwell Group, is meant to transform diners to the beauty of Bali.  Lush greenery, ornate wood carvings, white-washed brick, and leather banquettes with Balinese wood details help set the mood. >>
