Details: In India, roqa is an engagement where family and friends come together to celebrate the union of a couple. At aRoqa, in Chelsea, they are celebrating the merger of Indian cuisine with international flavors in a stylish setting. Chef Gaurav Anand, who owns the restaurant with business partner Monica Saxena, is preparing dishes like Habanero Tikka, a lamb kebab with habernaro aioli; Silbatte Ki Shammi, goat meat with pomegranate pearls & crispy onions; aRoqa Duck Leg Confit with coconut curry and Sri Lankan rice cakes; and Parsi Chimbori, beer-battered crab with a tomato pickle relish. Stuffed flatbreads, called Kulchas, are also being offered with the chef's special sauce. Cocktails by mixologist Stephen Thomas, formerly of Il Buco, feature fresh juices, infusions and housemade bitters.
