In India, roqa is an engagement where family and friends come together to celebrate the union of a couple. At aRoqa, in Chelsea, they are celebrating the merger of Indian cuisine with international flavors in a stylish setting. Chef Gaurav Anand, who owns the restaurant with business partner Monica Saxena, is preparing dishes like Habanero Tikka, a lamb kebab with habernaro aioli; Silbatte Ki Shammi, goat meat with pomegranate pearls & crispy onions; aRoqa Duck Leg Confit with coconut curry and Sri Lankan rice cakes; and Parsi Chimbori, beer-battered crab with a tomato pickle relish. Stuffed flatbreads, called Kulchas, are also being offered with the chef's special sauce.
