Manhattan meets Mexicali as Border Town brings its celebrated Sonoran-style flour tortillas to The Standard Biergarten, November 9-10 (2-10pm Sat; 12-6pm Sun). Chef Jorge Aguilar is showcasing his craft with tacos that feature his perfected, authentic flour tortillas made with wheat flour imported weekly from Mexico. On the menu: the Gringa with mushroom al pastor and pineapple-habanero salsa, the signature Taco de Guisado with carne con chile, and a Spicy Bean Dip with salsa macha. For one night only, Bangkok Supper Club (641 Hudson St) is breaking its no-noodle rule with an exclusive Thai noodle pop-up. Executive Chef Max Wittawat has crafted a lineup of nine inventive dishes that push beyond typical expectations, with creations like squid “noodle” Khao Soi, zucchini noodles with roasted duck, drunken charred rice noodles with smoked mussels, and egg noodles with braised short ribs and crispy garlic chili oil. Even dessert has noodles in mind, featuring smoked coconut and mung bean noodle ice cream.

On Saturday, November 9th, from 12 PM to 2:30 PM, Porter House presents an exclusive afternoon with culinary icons: Chef Michael Lomonaco in conversation with the legendary Ruth Reichl. The event begins with hors d'oeuvres and bubbly, leading into a captivating discussion covering life, career, and Paris, followed by an audience Q&A. Conclude the afternoon with dessert and a chance to meet Ruth. Signed books will be available for purchase. The New York Comedy Festival kicks off this Thursday, November 7th, celebrating its 20th anniversary as the largest and longest-running comedy festival in the U.S. Running through November 17th.
