ICHIRAN is going full vegan with its Veggie Ramen. The popular restaurant chain known for its “focus booths” is featuring a vegetable dashi broth crafted without any egg products, which includes the noodles. In order to maintain the balance of all the flavors, broth customization will not be available, but guests can still pile on the toppings.
The New Year will bring a new Midtown cocktail lounge. Bergamo’s (26 Vanderbilt Avenue, New York, NY) will be offering cocktails like the Devil in White made with Manhattan Moonshine, and an Espresso Milkshake with bourbon, bailey’s and espresso that is shaken until frothy. Small plates and snacks will also be offered.
Shuko is shaking up its menu for the New Year. The 8-course tasting menu ($225pp) will feature exotic, hyper-seasonal fish and seafood. Menu items include: Sunomono (dungeness crab, uni, potato miso, seasonal veg), Bread (toro tartare, caviar, milk bread), Robata (Seasonal cooked fish/pasta), Meat (Seasonal cooked meat/pasta), Dashi, Sushi (15 pc.), Granite, and Dessert.
Great Northern Food Hall at Grand Central is teaming up with local bakers for monthly offerings. The include Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery (December) Pumpkin-Cherry Linzer Tart; Win Son Bakery (January) Black Sesame Frosnapper; High Street on Hudson (February) Classic Spandauer; Breads Bakery (March) Upside-Down Tebirkes with poppy seed filling and sliced almonds; and La Mercerie (April) Tebirkes with strawberry almond filling.
Put on your dancing ski boots. Aprés-Ski Disco is bringing together the pinnacle of all après-ski experiences – from cozy chalet style lounges to decadent food stations to boozy bar selections to keep you warm – Pier 17 in the New Year. The inaugural Après-Ski Disco during the weekend of February 22 and 23, 2020.
After all of those New Year’s Eve parties – there’s breakfast. Monarch Rooftop is hosting its NYE Ball Drop Breakfast ($59) from 12:30am – 2:30am. Revelers will be offered a hearty breakfast buffet bar filled with breakfast sandwiches, eggs, pancakes with all the fixings, bagels, French fries and hash browns. Unlimited Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas will be available until 2 a.m.
Jean-Georges is bringing its Bûche de Noël for the holidays. It's filled with dark chocolate mouse, devils food cake, dried cranberry and orange confit, Tahitian vanilla cream, pecan praline and cinnamon ganache. Each serves 6 people ($88) and can be ordered through Dec 21st and picked up at Jean-Georges restaurants up until December 23rd.
