The Runway Chalet is now open at The Pool Bar on the roof of the landmark 512-room TWA Hotel, the only on-airport hotel at JFK International Airport. The 1960s ski lodge-themed getaway is serving food (think charcuterie and sizzling burgers) and drinks. The tented and heated bar, complete with fireplace, is offering peak views of the runway while sipping on a hot toddy or hot chocolate with a kick. And if that’s not enough you can take a dip in the heated pool.

Looking Ahead

This February, third generation sushi chef Kunihide “Nakaji” Nakajima is partnering with restaurateurs Ivy Tsang and Selwyn Chan (TURTLERABBIT hospitality) to open Nakaji. The dual-concept space, located at 48 Bowery, will feature a chef’s counter serving edomae-style sushi via three tiers of omakase, as well as a Japanese-focused cocktail bar called Bar at Nakaji. Most recently, chef Nakajima worked as the head chef of Sushi Inoue, a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in Harlem. Stay tuned!
