Baby Boom at the Bronx Zoo
May 15, 2006, 12:31.18 am ET
With their native habitats dwindling, a group of lowland gorillas are calling the Bronx Zoo home, and there's somwhat of a baby boom going on. In fact, four baby gorillas have been born within the past year; three boys and one girl. The babies are now outdoors and romping around at the Bronx Zoo's Congo Gorilla Forest, which according to zoo officials, raises nearly $800,000 a year to support gorilla and other wildlife conservation projects in Africa.
