Breads Bakery Launches the Jean-Georges’ Mixed Berry Babka

First it was Martha Stewart, now Breads Bakery is teaming up with Jean-Georges Vongerichten on its newest sweet treat: the Jean-Georges’ Mixed Berry Babka.

The collaboration came about after Gadi Peleg, owner of Breads Bakery, would meet up at the Union Square Greenmarket with Jean-Georges where they shared a passion for the market and the neighborhood.

The new babka reflects that passion with the market now full of beautiful berries. Those berries and vanilla cream are braided in Breads Bakery’s buttery, laminated babka dough. This limited-time Babka ($17.50 or two for $30) will be available at all Breads’ bakeries starting August 15th.

A portion of the proceeds of the Jean-Georges’ Mixed Berry Babka will be donated to GrowNYC, an organization that both Chef Jean-Georges and Peleg are very passionate about. Stay tuned as Chef Jean-Georges may create dishes at some of this restaurants with this namesake Babka.
