Steak Frites, a new Parisian-style neighborhood bistro is now open at 496 9th Avenue at 38th Street in Midtown West. Executive Chef and Owner Adam Schop (formerly of Stephen Starr’s Le Diplomate) is the force behind the restaurant offering classic French fare with a contemporary twist.
Menu items include: Tartare De Bœuf; Escargots De Bourgogne; Shrimp Cocktail; Onion Soup Gratinée; Salad Lyonnaise; Croque Madame; Pâté De Campagne; Poulet Rôti (Roast Chicken); Côte De Bœuf for Two, Chateaubriand for Two. Desserts include: Soufflé Au Chocolat; and Clafoutis Aux Cerises, a fruit tart traditionally made with black cherries.
The natural leaning, all-French wine list is curated by Sommelier Alexis Percival of Ruffian Wine Bar and Kindred. Riffs on classic cocktails were designed by Alex Cajuste featuring Lavender 75, Boulevardier la poire.
The comfy, yet elegant 65-seat restaurant will transport you to Paris with its intricate tile and woodwork that recalls the best of La Belle Époque. Antique mirrors, eclectic artwork and art deco fixtures designed by Tiff Porter and Evan Collier of Arch, fill this cozy space with a classic, timeless vibe.
Steak Frites is open for dinner Sunday to Wednesday from 5pm-10pm and Thursday - Saturday 5pm-11pm with brunch to follow.
