Hiroki Odo, the chef behind award-winning restaurants such as o.d.o and all-day eatery HALL, is unveiling THE GALLERY in Flatiron. THE GALLERY is a new cultural space created with the express intention of featuring rotating art exhibitions by emerging artists and creatives from around the country and his birthplace in Kyushu, Japan.

“I appreciate the value of creative expression and I am excited to explore and share the works of creative and artistic communities,” said Odo. “And, as a mixed media artist, I am thrilled to operate a space that will serve as a platform for inspiration and discovery of new artistic talent.” THE GALLERY serving as fertile ground for their creations.

The inaugural exhibition, Botanicals, is by professional NYC photographer Cody Rassmussen and will feature eleven ethereal photographs of flowers, herbs and spices, shot by Rasmussen in the spring of last year. Entombed under an acrylic glass cover, the minimalist works depict up close shots of fresh as well as preserved botanicals saturated with rich natural tones that beautifully contrast with the simple black and grey backdrops. More details on the Botanicals exhibition can be found here.

Aiming to nurture artists, Hiroki Odo created a platform where creatives will be supported in crafting a viable career path in a highly competitive cultural hub like New York City.

Hours of operation for THE GALLERY are 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily (subject to change). Also, starting in July, Chef Odo will open up THE GALLERY for dinner service. Odo is eager to surprise patrons with original menus that will change with every season, complementing the arts and culture focus of the space. More details on THE GALLERY’S dining options will be released closer to July. For more information visit odogallery.nyc.
