The year is new but already we’re getting inklings of what’s to come with some exciting new restaurants set to open this year.

Sushi Ichimura
Tribeca New York/Spring

This spring, legendary Japanese sushi chef, Eiji Ichimura (Uchu, Ichimura at Brushstroke), makes his return to the NYC dining scene via the opening of his forthcoming restaurant Sushi Ichimura. Ichimura, revered for a successful career helming two-Michelin-starred Uchu and Ichimura at Brushstroke, will serve his signature edomae-style omakase. With years of experience deep-rooted in honoring tradition and relationships, Ichimura presents the freshest fish and ingredients, sourced directly from Japan and perfectly aged to showcase each courses’ peak flavor. The atmosphere is elevated, yet relaxed, allowing guests to truly immerse themselves in the meal and take in Ichimura’s mastery.

Smith & Mills
30 Rockefeller Center

As New York’s go-to midtown destination, Rockefeller Center continues to expand its notable F&B portfolio announcing Smith & Mills’ second location in the former Swarovski space at 30 Rockefeller. Started as a passion project, industry veterans Matt Abramcyk and Akiva Elstein of Employees Only and Beatrice Inn debuted the original Smith & Mills in Tribeca nearly 15 years ago. The beloved industrial bar joins Rockefeller Center’s lively new F&B options from Lodi to its recent openings of Jupiter and Naro, extending their concept of new European cuisine to New York’s iconic destination.

The Bazaar at The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad
25 West 28th St/NoMad

A vibrant mix of sophisticated cuisine, artful service and playful theatrics, The Bazaar takes guests on a wild sensory adventure born of José Andres’ Spanish roots, both traditional and avant-garde, in a bold, playful atmosphere where anything is possible.

Principe
450 W Broadway/South Village

Coming soon from acclaimed Chef Abram Bissell, Principe will be a vibrant, seafood-focused restaurant in the heart of SoHo that draws from both local and Italian influences.

Park Ave Kitchen
277 Park Ave/Midtown East

Chef David Burke is slated to open Park Ave Kitchen in May of this year in a 50-story office tower at 277 Park Avenue. It is Burke’s first New York City venture in nearly 3 years. The restaurant will showcase Burke’s whimsically imaginative approach to contemporary American food with two dining concepts – a 148-seat seasonally driven modern American brasserie - including a 16-seat bar and 22-seat lounge - and a ’grab-and-go‘ market- café offering an inviting ambiance designed to encourage people to ’grab-and-stay.’ Signature dishes will include short ribs and roast chicken, pastas and pizzas.

Red Pavilion

Bushwick/Early 2023

The Red Pavilion is an immersive, multi-experiential restaurant, bar and event space. Opening in early 2023 in the heart of Bushwick, New York, The Red Pavilion's goal is to amplify the representation of artists in the Asian and larger BIPOC community by establishing a creative space in which to entertain, educate and inspire audiences through immersive experiences centered around entertainment, food, beverage and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Bar Harta and Tacalle
Midtown/Spring

Following openings of Harta and Bar Cima, award-winning local hospitality group Apicii will open two additional concepts at Bryant Park’s Grayson Hotel in spring 2023: Bar Harta, a second-floor wine and tapas bar, and Tacalle, a taco garden. Helmed by founder and CEO Tom Dillon and led by an all-star lineup of hospitality veterans including chief culinary officer Jonathan Benno, the Apicii team has deep knowledge and experience with Mediterranean and Mexican cuisines, as well as extensive travels and long relationships with culinary pioneers, distillers and craftsmen across each region.
