Bad Hombre, Chef Ruben Rodriguez’s new Mexican Seafood destination, is a real showstopper. The new restaurant & cocktail lounge embodies the spirit of Chef Ruben Rodriguez’s party-loving father, a nod to irreverence and good times. Opening its doors this December, Bad Hombre is more than just a place for a great meal, it's an experience where the ever-changing menu is a commitment to unapologetic goodness.
Designed by Linda Daniels of LCD Design, the interior reflects the warmth and nostalgia of a Mexican abuelo's living room, with subtle retro touches that create an inviting and intriguing atmosphere. Earth-toned banquettes, deep clay-toned oranges, plenty of greenery, and patterns inspired by Mexico City's eccentric designs, transports guests somewhere beyond the East Village.
The centerpiece of Bad Hombre is the welcoming marble bar, where guests can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails and natural wines. The space is made up of a series of diverse rooms, each offering a unique experience every time you visit. Whether guests are seeking a solo drink, going on a hinge date, gathering with friends, or celebrating a milestone, Bad Hombre's vibe is designed to spark conversations and create your best NYC memories.
Chef Rodriguez’s menu is described as a love letter to the vibrant flavors of Mexico, with a spotlight on the sea, featuring a Seafood Tower that's not just a pescatarian’s dream but a visual masterpiece, offering a design- forward presentation with a spicy twist. Guests can enjoy other menu items including Octopus, Fried Cod, and Mexican Flan for dessert. Non-seafood, vegan and vegetarian options are also available.
Bad Hombre is located at 29 2nd Avenue in Manhattan’s East Village, open Tuesday through Thursday from 5-10 pm, Friday from 5-11 pm, and Saturday from 5 pm-2 am. For more information, visit badhombrenyc.com, call 212-677-1030, and book your reservation on Resy
