The Upside Down has officially arrived on Broadway. Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions have dropped the official trailer for Stranger Things: The First Shadow, teasing the jaw-dropping theatrical event now in previews at the Marquis Theatre. Adapted from the hit Netflix series and rooted in the show's rich mythology, this original stage production has already earned acclaim across the pond—winning the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment—and now begins its spellbinding run in New York.

Set in 1959 Hawkins, Indiana, the play serves as a chilling prequel to the series, following a young Henry Creel as he’s drawn into a mystery that will forever alter the fate of the town. With direction by three-time Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry and co-direction by Justin Martin, The First Shadow blends edge-of-your-seat storytelling with boundary-pushing stagecraft. “There are moments in the show where you will think, ‘I don't understand how they did that,’” Daldry promises. To mark the occasion, Netflix will debut a new documentary, Behind the Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow, premiering April 15. The film offers an exclusive look at how the creative team brought this ambitious theatrical production to life—from early rehearsals to the West End triumph and its Broadway transformation. With monsters, mystery, and mind-bending visuals, Stranger Things on stage is a can’t-miss experience for fans and theater lovers alike.
