86th Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn isn’t what you would call a hot spot for omakase, but Gohan Sushi is changing that. The restaurant, with its sleek sushi bar, is offering a traditional Japanese omakase at an affordable price.
The meal begins with Onsen Tamago (slow-cooked egg) followed by seasonal nigiri, toro maki, tamago and soup. Some of the seasonal options include Aged Kampachi (baby yellowtail), Arctic Char (from Iceland), Live Dungeness Crab, and Wagyu with uni and caviar.
Diners can also opt for Donburi (sushi rice bowls) such as Tekka Don with bluefin tuna, toro tartare, ikura and uni. Grilled eel and house made Chashu are also available. There’s Futomaki in combinations like king salmon, cucumber & mango, and shrimp, cucumber & spicy Kanu. The Signature Futomaki features toro, Wagyu, uni, ikira snd scallions. Temaki, or hand rolls, are also available such as yellowtail jalapeño and shrimp cucumber.
Gohan Sushi is located at 533 86th St, Brooklyn, NY (718) 333 – 5273
