Tarelli are those ring-shaped, crispy crackers known throughout Southern Italy. At Il Fornaretto Bakery (7616 17th Avenue) in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn there are bins full of them ranging from traditional fennel to olive and red pepper. All are delicious. And don’t leave without a loaf of Italian bread or focaccia made fresh daily from their brick oven. Il Fornaretto Bakery opened its doors in 1927 and is still owned and operated by the Maggiore family. The bakery recently opened a second location in what was Leske's in Bay Ridge.
