Just Opened - Lower East, Noodle Shop, NYC

Lower East is located where Orchard Street and Stanton intersect on the Lower East Side. The restaurant is the latest project by Jonathan Morr, the proprietor of Bondst in NoHo and Republic which had a long run at Union Square. Lower East will features dishes like Shrimp & Avocado Tarts with togarashi and pickled onion, Summer Rolls, Veggie Wontons, Cauliflower Tempura and Chocolate Chicken Wings with a chocolate chili glaze. Several types of bao are offered including one with duck confit, pickled veggies and hoisin sauce. There’s a lengthy list of noodle dishes from Pad Thai and Shrimp Spicy Sausage to Charred Squid and Ginger Beef. Broth noodles are also available like Kakiage with Udon noodles and a Japanese crispy fritter. Punch cocktails and mocktails are also on the menu like Just Do It with watermelon, lime, hibiscus and gin, and Thai Breeze with Tito’s vodka, lemon, mango and passionfruit. Just Opened - Mendy's 2.0, Jewish Deli, NYC

Mendy’s which closed down its Grand Central location has opened Mendy’s 2.0 a few blocks away on Park Avenue South. The Kosher Deli features staples like Old Fashioned Chicken Noodle Soup, Chopped Liver, Stuffed Cabbage along with specialty sandwiches like pastrami, corned beef and brisket. Just Opened - Rib No. 7, KTown, NYC

Rib No. 7 is a new Korean BBQ spot on West 33rd Street. The space is large and quite elegant. The food is strictly Korean. There’s Bossam with steamed pork belly and shredded radish Kimchi and Suyook, thinly sliced braised beef with chive and onion. BBQ plates include marinated prime aged rib, thinly sliced pork belly and marinated boneless pork rib. Larger plates Korean Army Stew with ramen noodles, Kimchi, Spam, hot dogs, bacon and vegetables, The Royal Galby, slowly braised beef ribs in a stew of radish, carrots and dates.
