Kotti Berliner Döner Kebab, which recently opened its first standalone location just steps away from Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, is working to help earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria with a special offer.

The restaurant is offering $1 Döner Kebabs from 4-8pm through April 8th. For each $1 Kebab sold, Kotti is giving a $5 donation to Chef Jose Andres' Foundation, World Central Kitchen. All proceeds help feed children and families who are victims of the devastating earthquake that claimed over 50,000 lives and left thousands homeless in Turkey and Syria.

Döner itself is meat that is seasoned with spices, grilled on a vertically rotating spit, and thinly sliced into tender pieces. The technique originates in Turkey—döner means turning or rotating in Turkish—and has its own variation in Berlin, serving döner alongside a variety of crisp garden fresh salads and signature sauces made from scratch and served  in a toasted, focaccia-like Turkish pide bread.
