Late Nights Are Returning to Veselka in the East Village
March 6, 2024, 12:42.48 am ET

New York is once again the city that doesn’t sleep. Ukrainian icon Veselka is returning to a 24/7 service at its East Village location after cutting back on hours during the pandemic. In fact, Veselka was one of the first restaurants to reopen with takeout service during the pandemic as we documented in May of 2020.

Veselka will reportedly ease in the new hours starting with weekends this Memorial Day and possibly expand to seven days. With the move, New Yorkers and tourists alikewill be able to enjoy a bowl of borscht, pierogis and latkes (with a side of apple sauce of course) any time of the day.

Veselka, which recently turned 70, is also the subject of a new documentary, Veselka: The Rainbow on the Corner at the Center of the World. You can view the the trailer here
