The Pierogis are back at Veselka
May 2, 2020, 3:13.22 am ET
After being shut down like so many other New York City restaurants by the Coronavirus pandemic, Veselka (144 Second Ave; (212) 228-9682) has reopened its doors. The Ukrainian spot known for its pierogi and latkes is offering a limited menu. We spotted folks lining up for takeout or delivery via Grubhub and Caviar. Let's just say they've been missed. The steamed pierogi with a dab of sour cream and applesause are a delight and the borscht is among the best in town. The menu also includes favorites like potato pancakes, beef stroganoff and stuffed cabbage. Welcome back!
