Little Island is back this summer with a powerhouse season of performances after last year’s completely sold-out run. Spanning four months from May 29 through September 28, 2025, the open-air arts destination on the Hudson River will present 110 performances featuring more than 300 artists, across its two iconic venues, The Amph and The Glade. With ticketed shows priced at $25 and many events free to the public, this year’s programming promises an explosion of music, dance, theater, opera, and immersive art.
Standouts include Grammy winner Meshell Ndegeocello’s No More Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin, celebrating Baldwin’s centennial; a new bluegrass spin on Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin directed by Rachel Chavkin; and The Gospel at Colonus, a rare revival of the gospel-infused featuring Kim Burrell, Davóne Tines, and serpentwithfeet.

Other highlights include The Counterfeit Opera, a gritty new take on The Beggar’s Opera; Galas, Charles Ludlam’s madcap Callas tribute starring countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo; a six-hour Arthur Russell tribute led by Thomas Bartlett with Laurie Anderson and Martha Wainwright; and The Tune Up, a new piece from Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks.
Expect a park-wide Radiolab takeover, nightly piano duels with Jeremy Denk and Conor Hanick, a world premiere dance from Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber with a score composed and performed live by Caroline Shaw and Danni Lee Parpan, and eight wild nights with Brooklyn’s own Papi Juice. The season ends with a massive Shape Note Sing and a dazzling run of Galas in September.
With sweeping views, curated food and drinks, and a bold mix of performance from the city’s top talent, Little Island’s 2025 season is set to be another unforgettable summer on the river. Tickets and full schedule at littleisland.org and TodayTix.
