Nami Nori to Host Sake Tasting with Dassai Blue Sake Brewery

Nami Nori, the Japanese temaki restaurant specializing in open-style hand rolls, and Dassai Sake, the 4th-generation, prestigious Japanese sake brand, are celebrating the opening of Dassai Blue Sake Brewery, Dassai’s new state-of-the-art brewery and tasting room in the Hudson Valley, with a special sake tasting at Nami Nori Williamsburg on Thursday at 10/12 from 5-7PM.

At Nami Nori, alongside their popular temaki, the team offers an expansive selection of sake, including a rotating menu of new and limited-edition sake from their favorite breweries.

The team is excited to host Dassai, which has been on their menu since day one, and celebrate this moment of growth for the brand. Guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary sake tasting of Dassai sake, which includes a first look at the brand’s new sake Dassai Blue.

Dassai’s original brewery was founded in the 1700s and is still in the same location in the mountains of Iwakuni in Yamaguchi, in Southern Japan. A Junmai Daiginjo-only sake, Dassai is considered the highest level of premium sake, and the brand has grown exponentially in both Japan and the U.S. as consumer education and interest continues to grow in the sake category.

Complimentary snacks from the kitchen, like Shishito Peppers and Furikaké Fries, will also be available. The President of Dassai USA, Kenzo Shimotori, will be in attendance from Japan, along with Nami Nori’s founders, Lisa Limb, Taka Sakaeda and Jihan Lee.

Sake and snacks will be available at the bar on a first come, first serve basis. Guests enjoying dinner at Nami Nori Williamsburg will also be offered a taste of Dassai Blue while supplies last.
