Nerina Brings Sophisticated Greek Cuisine to Greenpoint

Nerina is the latest venture from the team behind Nerai. Led by co-owners Spiro Menegatos and Christos Gourmos, the restaurant is located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, offering a culinary journey through Greece with its asophisticated mezze-style menu perfect for sharing and exploring a wide range of flavors.

Executive Chef Moshe Grundman (Oceana, Nerai) has created a menu full of modern twists on traditional Greek recipes. Begin with house-made pita paired with various Greek spreads, vibrant salads, and fresh seafood options like fluke crudo, tuna tartare, grilled octopus, along with decadent lobster pasta, while larger plates designed for two or more guests feature tantalizing options like succulent lamb chops and whole grilled fish.

The diverse wine celebrates the various wine regions of Greece and its diverse islands with many available by the glass. Nerina also offers an adventurous cocktail list highlighting Mediterranean flavors, infused spirits, house-made syrups, and tinctures. Look for drinks like the Loukoumi made with rose-infused Cazcabel tequila, Italicus, rose syrup, and lime; and Marathos with Stray Dog gin, celery & fennel syrup, lime and egg white.

The space at Nerina draws its inspiration from iconic Greek design with sculptures from Mykonos, Greek terracotta pottery, and a glass-enclosed wine cellar. A welcoming bar, which seats 20, takes root in the center of the restaurant, with an expansive indoor dining room to its left and a glass-enclosed outdoor dining area to its right. A ten-foot olive tree in the main dining room serves as an anchor for this welcoming space.

Nerina is embracing the Greek tradition of philoxenia, or "friend to a stranger," ensuring guests are welcomed into a warm and hospitable environment, embodying the true essence of Greek hospitality with every visit.
