Hearty & Healthy brings deliciously satisfying — and health-conscious — fare to the East Village at 103 First Avenue. With organic, locally sourced ingredients, it caters to all diets, from vegan to gluten-free, making it ideal for groups with diverse preferences. The menu spans lunch, dinner, and brunch, with hearty and wholesome options that don’t break the bank.

Signature dishes range from the Wuddaburger with American wagyu, gruyere onion rings and fried egg, to comforting classics like Grandma’s Chicken Pot Pie and Braised Short Ribs with mashed potatoes and carrots.

Lighter fare include Blackened Salmon Salad with quinoa and lemon vinaigrette, plus vegan baked Spaghetti Squash with house-made marinara with tofu cream. Brunch brings crowd-pleasers like the Chorizo Skillet and Vegan Pancakes topped with seasonal berries and blueberry compote.

Signature drinks include La Mula y El Mezcal, with mezcal, ginger syrup, and pineapple juice; Tequila Road, made with tequila blanco, chile morita syrup, and grapefruit juice; and seasonal mocktails like the Little Miss Pumpkin Spice, and Rosemary Paloma with fresh grapefruit juice, rosemary-infused syrup and lemon.

Co-owner and beverage manager Andee Rosario, who grew up in the family-run Dominican chain Los Munchies, draws on her extensive experience from Harlem’s Minton’s Clubhouse and Cecil Steakhouse to create a warm, welcoming space where comfort meets health-forward flavors.
