Nightly’s, a fresh take on the classic New York bistro, has opened on corner of 78th Street and Second Avenue. Featuring craft cocktails, an expansive wine list, and dishes that include a mix of nostalgic throwbacks and treasured staples, Nightly’s serves as an approachable but stylish clubhouse for New Yorkers.
The design of Nightly’s, created by owner Massimo Lussardi and his partner, includes glowing custom lighting fixtures, curated framed art and checkered wood flooring. Nightly’s will also bring a touch of European sidewalk culture to its 50-seat outdoor patio, with custom enamel bistro tables and benches
The menu features easygoing bistro favorites with four sections: a raw bar, apps & lighter fare, a wide range of entrees, and plenty of sides. Favorite dishes include The Cod (cod roasted in a banana leaf with fennel marmalade and lemon butter sauce); the Smash Burger (two 4oz Pat LaFrieda patties, smash-grilled, with two cheeses, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and 78th St Sauce on a classic potato bun, served with fries); “Marry Me” Chicken with sundried tomato and tarragon cream sauce; Romesco Octopus with sun-dried tomatoes, roasted pepper, and almonds; and the ‘Tale of Two’ Salad (two tiers, two salads: chopped cabbage in a light dill dressing topped with a sweet roasted Brussels sprout salad in a lemon dressing).
Complementing these dishes are bold cocktails such as the Truffle Sazerac (Old Overholt Rye, Maison Rouge VSOP Cognac, creme de cacao, honey, absinthe, angostura, truffle oil) and the Bistrotini (dill-and olive-oil-infused Fords Gin, vermouth, Lillet blanc, St. Germain, celery bitters).
