Roberta’s may be known for its pizza, but it’s new restaurant in the Penn District (One Penn Plaza, 33 East, NYC) goes well beyond slinging pies. This expansive two-story space has a huge roof deck with picnic table-style seating and a full bar. It joins other newcomers in the area like the always busy Los Tacos No. 1 nearby and new Anita Gelato.

There are two pizza ovens going at all times - one on the ground floor which serves as a slice joint where you can also pick up individual pies - and a second on the top floor which feeds the restaurant.

Signature pies include Ursula’s Parade with mozzarella, clams, Calabrian chili and breadcrumbs; and the Bee Sting with tomato, mozzarella, soppressata, basil and chili honey. While whole pies are in the $22 to $29 range, while individual slices can be had for 4 bucks and change.

The menu at Roberta's goes well beyond pizza. Look for pasta dishes like Lobster Spaghettini, Linguine with Mussels, and Pappardelle with braised veal. Larger plates bring Heritage Porchetta with sungold tomatoes, a Short Rib Steak with buttered potatoes, and Lamb Shoulder with romano beans and mint.

The restaurant is also offering a selection of signature cocktails like the Bushwick Daquiri (Agricole rum, lime juice and simple syrup), Lomoncello Spritz (vodka, lemoncello, lemon juice, and simple syrup), and Pachanga Boys (mezcal, apple, arugula, lime juice and honey). A selection of beers and rotating wine list are also available along with zero-proof cocktails.

Roberta's is located just steps away from Madison Square Garden, making it the perfect landing spot before a game or concert. For more information, visit robertaspizza.com
