Sushi enthusiasts and culinary explorers were treated to an unforgettable experience at the highly anticipated Sushi-Con 2024, which took place on September 22nd at the Metropolitan Pavilion. As the largest event celebrating sushi and global culinary culture in New York, Sushi-Con drew over 2,000 attendees who came to taste, learn, and experience the finest seafood and delicacies from around the world. The event offered an afternoon of premium tasting and entertainment, welcoming attendees aged 16 and older to indulge in Asian flavors.

More than 50 suppliers from True World Foods (TWF) showcased their best offerings, featuring an unrivaled selection of fresh seafood, including bluefin tuna, yellowtail, sea bream, and sea urchin. New products, such as Hawaiian Kanpachi, scallop, and abalone, were introduced for the first time, while attendees enjoyed exclusive tastings of wagyu beef and traditional Japanese ingredients like matcha and yuzu.

One of the main attractions was the highly anticipated Tuna Cutting Demonstration, where top executive chefs, including Kazutaka Iimori, expertly sliced a massive bluefin tuna live for the audience. Guests were able to witness master sushi chefs as they prepared delicious cuts of toro, chu-toro, and akami for the crowd to enjoy.

True World Foods, the main organizer, has been a trusted leader in premium seafood distribution for over 40 years, serving thousands of restaurants, hotels, and supermarkets worldwide. Adding to the excitement was the debut of Noble Fresh Cart, an e-commerce platform delivering restaurant-quality sushi and seafood directly to homes in New York and New Jersey.

In addition to the remarkable tastings and demonstrations, Sushi-Con 2024 also offered attendees the opportunity to participate in educational sessions led by sushi masters and culinary experts. These workshops delved into the intricate techniques of sushi preparation, the art of knife handling, and the history and culture behind traditional Japanese cuisine. Guests gained insights into sustainable seafood sourcing practices and the evolving trends in the global sushi scene.
