The Automat is making a comeback as a dumpling shop.

Brooklyn Dumpling Shop at St. Mark’s Place in the East Village says its 24-hour restaurant will have a contactless ordering system and bring back the Automat of yesteryear into 2020 with innovative technology and Zero Human Interaction (ZHI) throughout the grab-and-go process. Customers can order ahead or scan a QR code at the TRAY kiosk, enabling them to order directly from their mobile phone. Orders are sent to TRAY’s glove-enabled kitchen display system, then temperature-controlled lockers for easy pickups.
BRITISH POP-UP DAME FINDS A PERMANENT HOME IN THE VILLAGE
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop will feature 32 unique dumpling varieties including Pastrami, Bacon Cheese Burger, Lamb Gyro, French Onion Soup, Philly Cheesesteak, Impossible, Reuben and Peanut Butter & Jelly.
Traditional Soup Dumplings such as Matzo Ball soup are featured in addition to Wonton Soup Dumplings you can make your own with a choice of three different broths and dumplings available to mix and match. Spring rolls are also also avaialble. Options include Lobster Spring Rolls, Veggie and Peking Duck.
GOLDEN DINER ANNOUNCES WINTER GRILLING EVENT IN CHINATOWN
Fast and affordable breakfast dumplings are also on the menu, include Bacon, Egg & Cheese CRO’ SUMPLINGS with the flakiness of a croissant inside the shape of a dumpling, as well as Hot & Frozen Dessert Dumplings including Fried Apple and Frozen Hot Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae Dumplings. A variety of beer and wine will also be offered in addition to-go cocktail pouches filled with Frosés like the Lychee Martini and Red Velvet.

Founder Stratis Morfogen is well known in the hospitality industry and was a partner in such establishments as Philippe Chow, Club Rouge, Gotham City Diner, and Seagrill of the Aegean. The opening is set for February 2020.
