For the first time since the restaurant opened in late 2021, West Village’s Shaker-inspired tavern, The Commerce Inn (50 Commerce St), is now open for brunch service.
Acclaimed Chefs Rita Sodi and Jody Williams have curated a thoughtful brunch menu featuring fresh and straightforward fare inspired by American heritage. Available every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am - 4 pm, the menu features Oysters (available fried, pickled or raw), Succotash with corn, peppers, cherry tomatoes and beans; Lamb Pasty with spiced chopped lamb and peas, and fluffy Pancakes so good you’ll be planning your next visit before you leave the restaurant.
Imaginative spins on classics include Half Fry’d Chicken with hot pepper jelly; Salt Beef Hash with dropped eggs; sides including Mashed Peas, Beans, Pork Sausage, and Smoked Bacon as well as an assortment of crave-worthy Morning Pastries featuring Apricot Turnovers, Doughnuts, Scones with clotted cream; and more.
The cocktail menu includes Bloody Mary options like the Green Tomato with cucumber, celery and basil and the Bloody Bull with red tomato and oxtail broth. Other offerings include the Tavern Spritz with Cocchi Rosa and house amaro; Pink Squirrel with cremes des noyaux and cacao; and Cup Pimms with Pimms, white port, lemon and ginger.
