Signage for the legendary Palace Theater is up at the new 46-story TSX Broadway tower at the corner of 47th Street and 7th Avenue. As part of the project, specially created hydraulic lifts were use to raise the 5-million-pound theatre 30 feet off the ground over the course of several months.
The Paris Theatre was built in 1913 as a vaudeville house hosting such greats as Judy Garland, Ethel Meman and Harry Belafonte. It is one of nine Broadway theatres operated by The Nederlander Organization with seating for more than 1,700 theatregoers.
A massive new sign announcing the Palace's arrival, although no shows have been announced as far as we can tell. Stay tuned!
