On a troubled corner where Bleecker and Carmine Streets converge, Venchi, which recently opened in the former Grom space, serves as a beacon of hope for New York City’s post post-pandemic era. Many of its neighbors have up and left, including Xi’An Famous Foods and PopBar, while several other storefronts remain vacant and covered with graffiti. So the arrival of Venchi, with its bright white exterior, oversized ice cream cones, and sparkling interior is a welcome addition and sure to put a smile on your face.

Inside, Venchi’s attentive and courteous staff stand ready to help hungry New Yorkers fulfill their sweet-tooth dreams with a wonderful selection of gelatos made with select ingredients like Sorrento lemons, Sicilian almonds and green pistachios from Bronte, as well as vibrant flavor combinations including chocolate, raspberry, lemon and strawberry.

But the real stars are the chocolates. Venchi has been making them since 1878 in Italy when Silviano Venchi, a 20-year-old from Turin who loved chocolate spent his entire life savings on two bronze cauldrons and began to experiment which chocolate and the rest is history. The result is a collection of more than 350 chocolate recipes, including Chocaviar, Truffles, Gianduiotti, Cremini, bars, and Suprema spread.

Venchi says it is on a mission to bring the flavor of the Italian Allegria (joy and happiness) to the world. We believe them!

Venchi is located at 233 Bleecker St, New York, NY
