After some false starts, Pips restaurant and wine bar has officially reopened in Brooklyn Heights. The team behind neighborhood institutions Colonie and Gran Electrica is offering an expanded menu of small plates.

Chef Jared Braithwaite’s leans coastal Italian with dishes like Sugar Snap Peas with green goddess, ricotta salata and poppy seeds; Pork Polpette with gremolata, horseradish, breadcrumbs; and Cauliflower with calabrian chili butter, capers, garlic and breadcrumbs.

Larger plates bring Branzino with eggplant caponata, garlic chips and parsley; Spaghetti with toasted pine nuts, lemon and parmigiana; and Chicken Milanese with castelfranco, and anchovy vinaigrette. Finish the meal off with Ricotta Bombolini with Nutella and Warm Olive Oil Cake with basil gelato.

The wine selection favors organic and natural wines, with many from Eastern Europe as well as Italy. There is also an extensive list of Amari and Italian-style cocktails.

Pips is located at 129 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY
