Loring Place is planting its roots in Greenwich Village. Chef Dan Kluger, formerly of ABC Kitchen and Tabla, is offering seasonal dishes in unexpected flavor combinations celebrating the bounty of New York's greenmarkets. Dishes range from small plates of spiced cauliflower with Meyer Lemon jam to pizzas made with house-milled flour and topped with things like fresh kale, mushrooms and Sevillano olives.
Larger plates include Suckling Pig with quinoa, roasted sweet potato and apple chutney; Pekin Duck with Tuscan kale, almonds and poached quince; and Lamb Chops with a sweet and spicy tomato compote, broccoli leaves and spicy breadcrumbs. Locally-sourced meats are also highlighted in the Loring Place Cheeseburger made with a blend of beef from the Niman Ranch. Desserts brings sweet treats, including a grownup chocolate "Hostess Cupcake" filled orange creme fraiche alongside tangerine sorbet, and baked Monkey Bread with cranberries.
The building, built in 1848, features floor-to-ceiling windows, white-washed brick and original beams. See more
