Having gone to Chango with high hopes, I was really hoping it wouldn't be a letdown.Review By: Benny Prim
The place has a beautiful design from its "Barrel of Monkeys" motif out front to its mango and passion fruit-colored walls inside
giving Chango a truly festive atmosphere.
The bar is buzzing and loud. So, loud that you'll have trouble holding a conversation, even at a back table. Multi-colored chips and salsa abound as the waitresses push margaritas by the pitchers.
You'll need a few to get through your
meal. My dinner consisted of flavorless greens sandwiched between two slabs of bone-dry pork plopped on some mashed bananas with the consistency baby food. The dish literally imploded when I put a knife to it. My wife, opted for the shrimps, a better choice, but not by much.
So if you're planning on Chango. Go with a bunch of friends, drink up and take in the upscale crowd, but head to the one of the many fine restaurants in the area for your meal. Patria is right across the street.
