HAND Hospitality, the group behind such restaurants as Atomix, Her Name is Han, LittleMad and Hakata Ton Ton, is set to launch a special, limited-time pop-up this month with OkDongsik, a Seoul-based restaurant with locations in Seo-kyo and Han-nam.
OkDongsik is famous for its single-item menu of dwaeji-gomtang (pork bone broth) served in the style of gukbap (rice soup). In fact, it has even been recognized by Michelin with a Bib Gourmand distinction since 2018. This pop-up in NYC will mark the brand's U.S. debut and will operate from November 22, 2022 through April 1, 2023. Beverages such as Golden Barley Soju (made with golden barley) and Sol Song Joo (made with pine needle) will also be offered. Like the menu, the space is small too – just 500 square feet, with 10 seats at a counter where chef Ok Dongsik will be preparing bowls of the dwaeji-gomtang in front of guests.
OkDongsik is located at 13 East 30th Street, New York, NY 929-237-8164, Monday-Thursday (11:30AM to 8:00PM), Friday & Saturday (12:00PM to 9:30PM) *Closes daily from 3-5PM.
