In honor of Presidents Day, Black Barn (19 E 26 St) is planning a meal fit for a President. After all, Chef/Owner John Doherty cooked for several of them from both sides of the aisle while serving as Executive Chef of the Waldorf Astoria for 23 years.

Seared Maine Diver Sea Scallop (potato mousseline, chive emulsion, oscetra caviar), as served to President Bill Clinton on Sept 6, 2000 during a dinner celebrating progressive governance in the 21st Century

Roast Rack of Colorado Lamb (rosemary jus salsify, lemon, tomato and picholine olives, eggplant terrine) as served to George H. W. Bush while entertaining UK former Prime Minister John Major

And Chocolate Caramel Tarte (Gold Leaf, Raspberry Coulis) as served to President George W. Bush in September 2007 after addressing the U.N. General Assembly.

The President's Day meal will be available by reservation at the restaurant’s chef’s table in honor of the holiday.
