Middle Eastern restaurants may come and go, but Tanoreen in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn continues to produce some of the best flavors in the city.
Start with a sampler of traditional dips – baba, hummus, and excellent mhammara (red pepper dip with walnuts and pomegranate molasses) – served with grape leaves on the side and house made zaatar bread. Hot appetizers include falafel, kibbie balls and schwarma sliders.

Over-sized entrées include stuffed cabbage with spiced lamb, shish kebabs (chicken or lamb), marinated lamb chops, and shrimps sautéed with garlic and lemon. All are served over a heaping helping of buttery vermicelli rice.

Desserts include homemade knafeh layered with cheese and soaked in orange blossom syrup with pistachios on top, semolina cake and a traditional milk pudding in rosewater syrup.

Specialty cocktails include the Figtini with muddled figs, Figenza vodka, citrus and prosecco, and The Juniper with Jun Lebanese artisanal gin, house made hibiscus syrup, citrus, fresh muddled basil, & orange blossom.
