Chef Melissa Rodriguez has taken the reins at Al Coro, a new Italian spot now occupying the former home of Del Posto in the Meatpacking District. In an Instagram post, the branding identity and inspiration of the restaurant is described this way - “Al Coro is a joyous celebration of life. A space for memorable and festive nights, great food and amazing company.”
The “festive” space is filled with towering archways and a balcony that will feature live music. The food, as they say, seeks to remove the boundaries of traditional Italian cuisine. Al Coro is operated by the same folks behind Mel’s, a stop for pizza next door.
Al Coro is located at 85 10th Ave (16th Street), New York, NY (212) 970-2200
