December 5, 2023, 10:25.38 pm ET
Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys’ new musical “Hell’s Kitchen,” now at the Public Theater, will transfer to Broadway’s Shubert Theater (225 West 44th Street) on March 28, with an official opening set for April 20.
The loosely autobiographical show is about a 17-year-old girl named Ali trying to navigate her need for personal freedom, an overprotective mother, an ill-considered love affair with an older guy and the discovery of her artistic passion. It features a mix of new and old songs by Keys, including such hits as “Fallin’,” “No One,” “Girl on Fire,” and “Empire State of Mind.”
The work features a book by Kristoffer Diaz, music supervision by Adam Blackstone, music consulting by Tom Kitt, choreography by Camille A. Brown, and direction by Michael Greif.
No casting for the Broadway production has been announced; the current production features Maleah Joi Moon, Shoshana Bean, Brandon Victor Dixon, Chris Lee and Kecia Lewis.
The official Pre-Sale begins at 10:00AM on Friday, December 8; please visit HellsKitchen.com to sign up. Public tickets will go on-sale to the general public on Monday, December 11 at 12:00PM at HellsKitchen.com and Telecharge.com.
