Mesiba, the new Tel Aviv-inspired restaurant at Moxy Williamsburg is welcoming celebrated Israeli Chef Asaf Doktor, of Dok in Tel Aviv, for a special pop-up on May 31 & June 1. Chef Asaf is widely regarded as a leading culinary presence in Israel, having opened his 30-seat restaurant Dok in 2015 to critical praise. At Mesiba, he will bring a taste of his approach to a collaborative menu alongside chef Eli Buli’s interpretation of Tel Aviv-inspired dishes. Menu highlights include Maine Scallop and Floridian Snapper Kubbehnieh topped with Israeli caviar; Roasted Arab Cabbage from the Union Square Green Market with orange wine, local sheep’s cheese and Dok’s chimichurri; and Medjool Date and Toffee Cake with sesame ice cream. Smorgasburger returns to Prospect Park for a 2nd year on May 28th from 11am to 6 pm. With over 20 vendors participating, an array of specialty burgers and burger-inspired items will be offered along with several vegan offerings. There will also be a special ghost pepper burger challenge, complete with prizes, starting promptly at 3pm. Enter here

Smorgasburg NY is also partnering with ChowNow, the nation’s leading online ordering and zero commission marketplace for independent restaurants. Starting Friday, June 2, ChowNow is launching a Secret Menu at Smorgasburg, a monthly offering of exclusive, off-the-menu dishes specially crafted for diners only available for pickup on ChowNow's app. June’s lineup includes secret Mochi S'mores from Mochidoki, Birria-style Lamb Shawarma from Hen House NYC and a Mac & Cheese Burger from SMASHED. New deals will be announced monthly for a limited time (one month only) beginning the first weekend (Fri-Sun) of each month.

Zaytinya is debuting its outdoor dining along Broadway at 28th Street which is being transformed into a floral oasis just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. The outdoor spot is ideal for breakfast and brunch with offerings such as Shakshouka, José’s fried egg in a stew of braised chicken, tomato, onions, sweet peppers; Menemen, Turkish style scrambled eggs with tomato, feta, olive oil; and Ashta, French toast the Lebanese way scented with orange blossom water and served with Attiki honey, fruit and fresh mint. Dinner and Lunch are also being served.

First Excursions First Horizons, a new sound performance by DJ Black Helmet aka Azikiwe Mohammed is coming to the High Line. Azikiwe Mohammed works fluidly across a wide variety of mediums, making paintings, jewelry, furniture, photographs, tapestries, and sculptures that draw from a set of aesthetics found in the Black home as it exists in America. For the performance, New York City-based musicians Taja Creek, Peter Toussaint, and CX KIDTRONIK perform sets based on custom-made records created by Mohammed. The work can be found along the full length of the park, creating an immersive and transformative experience. June 5, 6, 7 & 8, at 7pm at various locations. RSVP here

NASA has Selected New York Hall of Science to host 2024 Solar Eclipse Community Events tied to to real-time astronomy. As part of NASA’s Next Gen STEM program, NYSCI will serve as a “community anchor” and act as a “local hub” bringing space science to students and families in traditionally underserved areas.
