Around Town – The New Year’s Edition

When the ball drops in Times Square there will be plenty of New Year wishes raining down in the form of confetti. Some of this year’s wishes include “Be nice to yourself,” “Epic trip with my best friend,” “No more vaping,” and “Be healthy and happy.”

This year’s ball drop will also be a bit shinier. That’s because Waterford has added 200 new crystals with a new design called, “Gift of Love.”

Entertainmentfor the big event will bring performances by JVKE, Duran Duran, New Edition, and Chelsea Cutler singing John Lennon’s “Imagine” just before midnight. See the full line-up here.

HŪSO, led by Bravo Top Chef winner Buddha Lo, still has a few seats available for its “farm-to-spoon” caviar speakeasy for New Year’s Eve if you are looking to break the bank. Gage & Tollner will ring in the New Year with its regular menu and some “fabulous specials” along with wine parings. There will also be limited reservations at The Sunken Harbor Club for New Year;s Eve.
Nonna Dora’s is hosting a pasta party with a few seats left at its pasta bar. It include an a la carte menu and extended seating through midnight.

Jean-Georges is hosting a New Year’s Eve bash at the Tin Building with dining available at several in-house restaurants, including the luxe, House of the Red Pearl. The party kicks off at 10pm with a live DJ, party favors and dancing.

Lamia’s Fish Market has a 4-course meal on tap with champagne toast. Guests are also invited to join the party after midnight.

9 Jones, New York’s newest supper club, will be ringing in the New Year with champagne and caviar and an elegant prix fixe dinner with two seating times with the option for a Caviar Bump. Dress attire is elegant.

il Fiorista is hosting a special New Year’s Eve brunch and open Bellini Bar from 11:30 am to 2pm ($40 for the Bellini Bar only).
The Pineapple Club in Brooklyn is offering a New Year’s Day Hangover Brunch with bottomless mimosas, Eggs Benny, French toast and more.
Elsewhere…
Smashed is pitching its new Chili Cheese Smashed Potatoes that might also be the cure for a hangover.
Dame is offering oysters with green chartreuse hollandaise for the holidays.
And Isle of Us is serving up its Matcha Mochi Cake with fresh raspberries which is made fresh daily.
