Brett’s Deli is bringing a touch of nostalgia to Urbanspace Vanderbilt (230 Park Ave near Grand Central) with this throwback luncheonette. Brett Reichler, the former Executive Chef at Gallaghers Steakhouse and a fixture in the hospitality industry, is the force behind this new concept.

Look for hot sandwiches like Brett’s Cheesesteak made with house roast beef, onions, peppers, provolone, and secret sauce served on a house-baked sesame hero, or the Loaded Turkey Melt with banana peppers, onions, American cheese, and ranch dressing.

Cold sandwiches come in combinations like the Turkey-BLT-Avocado, Brett’s Grand Italian with prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, basil, balsamic reduction, and olive oil on a house-made baguette, and French Ham and Cheese with cornichon and butter.

Visitors will also find assorted salads (tuna, chicken and curry chicken) as well as a Cobb and Caesar. For breakfast there are egg sandwiches and wraps along with muffins and yogurt parfaits. Not to mention - Brett’s all-day hot or iced coffee special, just a buck-75.

In fact, all of the prices at Brett’s Deli are rather tame for this Midtown location. Prices for the hot and cold sandwiches will set you back between $9.75 and $13.50 with the exception of the Pastrami served on "award-winning" rye with mustard and pickle. It costs $18.95.

Brett’s Deli is a welcome blast from the past that you should not pass up.
