Broadway Director Rachel Chavkin Celebrates on 48th Street

On March 29, director Rachel Chavkin posed with the casts of the two Broadway shows she has directed, opposite each other on West 48th Street: The highly anticipated new musical “Lempicka” about the life of artist Tamara de Lempicka, now at the Longacre Theatre, and the Tony Award-winning musical, “Hadestown,” now in its fifth year at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Chavkin won the Tony Award for “Hadestown.” Her other theater credits include “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812,” “The Royale,” “Three Pianos,” and “Moby-Dick.”

“Lempicka,” which officially opens on April 14, stars Eden Espinosa, Amber Iman, Andrew Samonsky and Beth Leavel. “Hadestown” currently stars Jordan Fisher, Philip Boykin, Ani DeFranco, Isa Briones and Jon Jon Briones.
